So awhile ago I started knitting a very tiny, very cute sweater. A sweater for a baby who was only the size of a blueberry. You might remember helping me pick a pattern for the yarn I had bought.

I finally finished the sweater, just in time for a baby to make her appearance! I packed it up and sent it to the US at Thanksgiving, and let me tell you, the tiny, cute sweater is even cuter on a baby. (And, by some miracle, it fits.)

Now I’ve got to get started on another cardigan for another baby who made her appearance a few weeks ago! I’m going to make a little grey cardi with a decorative yoke in a soft grey yarn. (Rav link). Since the cardigan will be so simple, I think it will need some special buttons… any suggestions?

Knitting:: Ease by Alicia Plummer, still. I’ve finished the never-ending 5″ section of ribbing at the bottom of the body, so I’ve moved onto the sleeves. I feel like never doing 1×1 ribbing ever again! The sleeves should go pretty quickly now since I’m using worsted weight on size 8s. I tried the sweater on when I finished the body and it looks like it’s going to fit just right! I’m knitting the size small but at a smaller gauge to get a slightly more fitted sweater. I’ll do some more detailed notes one it’s finished. (Rav link)

New design: Tempestuous!

One of the reasons I haven’t gotten far on this sweater this week is that I was busy putting the final touches on a new pattern! That’s right, I released Tempestuous on Monday and I’m so excited about it! I’m having a 20% off sale for this week and giving a copy away! See Monday’s post here if you want to win! (You can also buy the pattern here!)

I hope you are all having a great week! I’ll be linking up with Yarn-Along and WIP Wednesdays today.

Knitting:: Ease by Alicia Plummer. The yarn is Patons Decor in the colourway peat. I’m about halfway through the bottom edge ribbing, so I just have about 2.5″ left and then I’ll be done the body. 5″ of ribbing takes much longer than I would have thought… so slow! The sweater will be worth it, though- I can’t wait to wear it! (Rav Link)

Reading:: (Not pictured this week because I figured a picture of my Kindle was a bit boring!). The Cuckoo’s Calling by Robert Galbraith. I wish I could say that I picked up this book before the author’s identity was revealed because it sounded great, but I started it almost exclusively because JK Rowling wrote it. It’s good so far- great characters. (Goodreads link).

I hope you’re all having a great week!

Knitting :: Ease by Alicia Plummer in Patons Decor, colourway 87014 Peat. I’m knitting the small size at a guage of 5 sts/ inch instead of 4.5 sts/ inch in hopes of a slightly more fitted sweater. I would normally just knit the small as written, but the pattern includes 3-4″ of ease and I’m not sure I want quite that much. (Rav Link)

Reading :: Wild by Cheryl Strayed. I had started this awhile ago but only got a few chapters in. I’m not sure I love it so far, but I think it might just be a bit of a slow start. We’ll see. (Goodreads link)

Watching :: (A bonus this week because I need your advice!) Call the Midwife. I had started this awhile ago as well and I had forgotten how good it is! I’m on the fifth episode. I feel like I’m missing some good summer shows- what are your favourites?

Have a great week!

Almost There

I haven’t made any progress on my blue Angee socks since my last post, because I’ve been wrapping up a few other things. First, I’m almost finished a project that I had set aside for awhile. You might remember it from January, when it was just missing part of a sleeve… I finally finished that sleeve and seamed everything up. I just need to buy some buttons and then it’ll be ready to wear!

If all goes according to plan, I’ll be releasing my new pattern on Saturday. I’m just knitting up another sample so that I can take lots of photos for the final version! Here’s a teaser to tide you over…

I’ll be linking up with Ginny at Small Things today.
