Gift-A-Long (pattern specials!)

Independent designers on Ravelry have been working really hard over the past week to pull together an awesome pre-holidays event! It’s perfect if you want to get some holiday knitting done, or just buy lovely indie patterns and win some awesome prizes!

Basically, from November 1st (when this post goes live) to November 15th, 11:59pm GMT, you can get 25% off hundreds of independently published patterns! You can see the whole list here, or visually on Pinterest (see the Ravelry group for the various board links). Additionally, there are a bunch of different KALs/ CALs which last from November 1st to December 31st. There are tons of great prizes (yarn, patterns, notions, and everything else you can think of)! The KALs will all be run through the Indie Gift-A-Long group.

I’m putting all 6 of my independently published (and not free) patterns on special for the duration of the Gift-A-Long (Nov 1-15). Use the code GIFTALONG for 25% off your purchase. All of my patterns are available here but you can also use the “buy here” links toward the end of this post to purchase any of the patterns. I’ll be around throughout the Gift-A-Long, blogging, knitting, and maybe even giving away some prizes! All of my 6 patterns can be knit as part of the KAL and make you eligible for the prizes.

Here are the six patterns which I am including in the sale:

Please feel free to contact me at any point during the Gift-A-Long about any questions you might have. You can always leave a comment here, e-mail me at, or contact me on Ravelry. E-mail will likely get the fastest response. You can also find me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

I hope you take advantage of the great sales and prizes for this event. Happy knitting!

Modulation is now available on Craftsy!

Just checking in quickly today to let you all know that Modulation is now available on Craftsy! It is the same price regardless of where you buy it. If you haven’t got a Craftsy account yet, though, I would encourage you to give it a try- it’s free and there are a lot of awesome patterns there that you can’t get on Ravelry. I also can’t wait to try out their classes… I’ll let you all know how I like them!

You can sign up for Craftsy here and buy Modulation here!

I hope those of you in the US/ Canada are all staying safe from Hurricane Sandy. Have a great Monday!

Modulation: Winner and something special for the rest!

Good morning everyone! I’m going to announce the winner of the giveaway for a copy of my newest pattern.

There were 120 entries in total… wow! Without further ado, as chosen by Rafflecopter, the winner is…

Jaemi F.! In her comment, Jaemi said:

What a fantastic hat! Something that will definitely be on my “to knit” list. Especially since I have two brothers who live in cold climates (Edmonton and Regina) and shave their heads… silly men! All the more reason to knit, though, eh?

I agree, Jaemi! Any reason to knit is a good one! Jaemi, I’ve sent you the pattern on Ravelry. I you don’t receive it or there are any other problems, just shoot me an e-mail at likepurlsoffastring AT gmail DOT com.

If you didn’t win, don’t worry! I’ve still got something for you! I have another discount code for 10% off the pattern which is good for the next week. Just use the code modrelease10. You can buy the pattern here on Ravelry.

Have a great weekend!

New pattern: Modulation (plus a giveaway!)

I am so excited to be releasing a new design today, Modulation. From the pattern description:

Modulation is a cozy hat knit in worsted weight yarn, with a stitch pattern that is interesting to knit and fun to wear, while remaining simple enough to please even the pickiest wearer. (My 10- year old brother, in fact, has claimed the sample for himself!)

The hat is available in sizes newborn (baby, toddler, child/ adult S, Adult M/L), fitting head sizes approx. 14” (15-16”, 17-18”, 19-21”, 22-24”). The hat is designed to be snug, but is very stretchy. Please note that the smallest 3 sizes have only 1 vertical repeat of the pattern.

You can purchase the pattern on Ravelry here. For the first week (until September 28th, 2012), get 15% of the pattern by using the code modrelease2012. You can also !

I’m also going to give away a copy of the pattern here on my blog! Rather than using comments only for entires (because many people forget to leave comments for their extra entries, which is more work for me and gives you fewer chances of winning!), I’ll be trying a new system using Rafflecopter. You can earn up to 7 total entries, the first of which is to leave a comment on this blog post. All of the other methods of entering are optional. I’ll announce the winner and notify them on September 29th.

Please note: I’ve noticed a lot of people are entering by checking the comment box on Rafflecopter who haven’t actually commented… I can check who has and who hasn’t. If your name is drawn and you haven’t actually done what your said you did on Rafflecopter, I will draw another name. Play fair, people!

I can’t wait to see all of your entries! Good luck!
