A day of finishing (NaBloPoMo Day 4)

Today was a finishing day. The kind of day to wrap up all of the loose ends. To pin and spray and block. To cast off and weave in and wash.

I unpinned JA’s scarf… I’m so happy with how this turned out. I’ll do some proper modelled photos later this week. It’s the perfect colour, it was really quick to knit, and the lace adds the perfect touch of elegance.

Right after I unpinned it, I rearranged my improvised blocking boards (aka towels) and pinned out something else. I think that if all goes as planned, I should have 10 finished knit Christmas gifts to bring home with me on Wednesday. They’ll just stay there until Christmas since that’s where I’ll be giving them to people anyway.

P.S. It’s now November. That’s means that it’s totally acceptable to start listening to Christmas music, right? Right. If November doesn’t do it, than what’s happening outside right now should…

As a personal blogging challenge, I’m writing a blog post every day for the month of November as a part of NaBloPoMo (NAtional BLOg POsting MOnth). This is day 2!

Blocking

I finished knitting my Saroyan today (on Ravelry here)! I’m so excited to be able to wear it soon. I finished it while watching the really exciting finals of the Greater Toronto West robotics competition.

It’s all blocked out on my bedroom floor. Since I don’t have a blocking board or t-pins, blocking is always sort of an adventure. I usually use either a mattress, or if it’s for something smaller, a towel folded in half, and sewing pins.

I’ve sprayed it with water and now I just have to wait for it to dry… patience!

FO pictures to come soon. Happy Weekend!
